Star Wars fans rejoice as the Ruthless Bounty Hunter Boba Fett returns in his own Disney Plus show The Book of Boba Fett. This is the first on-screen, live action appearance from the character since 2002’s Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The show picks up after the end of Disney Plus’s other flagship Star Wars series The Mandalorian season 2. Temuera Morrison reprises his role as Boba Fett from previous projects including The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Attack of the Clones where he instead portrayed Jango Fett, Boba’s father. Ming-Na Wen also returns as bounty hunter Fennec Shand who was introduced in The Mandalorian. The show follows the bounty hunters as they take the throne of disgusting criminal kingpin, Jabba the Hutt’s massive criminal empire centered around the desert planet Tatooine. While focusing on the present-day events in Boba’s life, the show also shows how Boba got to where he is from when he was left for dead by Luke Skywalker in the Sarlaac pit at the beginning of Return of the Jedi and how he crossed paths with The Mandalorian. Anyone planning to watch the show should of course have watched Star Wars episodes 1-9 and both seasons of The Mandalorian. Spectators should also note that there are only five episodes out as of Wednesday January 26, 2022 and there will be a further two more added for a grand total of seven episodes. A new episode gets added every Wednesday like how Disney handled Wanda Vision, Loki, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The Book of Boba is the first in a long line of Star Wars projects to be launched on Disney Plus some of which include a return from characters like Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Obi Wan Kenobi, and Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. With all that and more on the way, the future should be bright for Star Wars and it’s fans.
