With Christmas just around the corner, many people are seeking fun Christmas activities. Going out to look at Christmas light displays is the perfect idea. Not only are many free, but it gets you into the Christmas spirit. Take a look at the top 5 best displays around Jax this year to get you in the mood for Christmas. 

  1. Deck the Chairs– Located at the Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach, dozens of life guard chairs are decked out with lights. The best part is, it’s free! There are also many good restaurants in the Jacksonville Beach area, so going to view the lights and grabbing dinner would be a fun night out.
  2. Girvin Road– While this option is less formal, Girvin road offers a spectacular Christmas light display. The entire neighborhood participates and if you are driving around Jacksonville one night and want some more Christmas spirit, driving through this area will do it! Additionally, it was the JaxBest choice for the best spot for local holiday lights three years in a row, according to news4jax.com.
  3. 2021 Joshua’s Christmas Lights– In Middleburg, there are over 10 houses that put on a huge, gleaming light display. This light show was created for a boy named Joshua, who lost his battle to cancer. Now, the family and friends of Joshua are putting on a large display to honor him.
  4. 2021 Christmas on Crystal Springs– Located on Crystal Springs Road, this display features over 90,000 lights and light animation. What’s even cooler? This house was shown on the show, The Great Christmas Light Fight. This house is definitely worth a visit to see so many lights and to feel the joy of Christmas.
  5. ZOOLights– The entire JAX Zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland where you can walk through and see thousands of twinkling lights. In addition, there are carousel rides, music performances, visits from Santa, and more. Unfortunately, it does cost $15 for members and $25 for non-members. If you’re looking for more than just Christmas lights, but a fuller experience, ZOOLights is just for you.
