World Languages Week happened last week, from Feb. 19 to Feb. 23. World Languages Week is held annually by the school’s World Languages Department.

“We celebrate this week to draw attention to our languages and the culture that goes with it,” Latin teacher Inge Thomas said, who spearheads the entire event as World Languages Department Chair.

The event consists of many activities. This year featured crepe-tasting, prayers recited in the language of the day – German, Spanish and Latin – with Friday’s prayers being recited by students who speak different languages, and a door decorating contest held between the World Language teachers.

“We have been celebrating this week for as long as I can remember, and I have been here 30 years!” Thomas said.
