The step team performed at all lunches this past Friday, Feb. 23.
In an announcement before each of their performances Ms. Dandridge explained the reasoning for their performance. She said the purpose for the performance was to spread awareness on black history and give knowledge during this Black History Month.
They also shared an educational video on the history of stepping and how it originated in West Africa. The video shared how stepping contains elements of African folk dances, dating back all the way to the fifteenth century.
Their performance lasted about 3 minutes.
