Students celebrated annual winter sports pep rally

Bishop Kenny held their annual winter pep rally in support of Kenny winter sports on Jan. 26.

The rally started with MC Seniors Claudia Stockard and Diego Solis. They gave a big welcome to the varsity girls and boys basketball teams.

With a starting performance from the drumline, afterwards multiple teams were recognized for their accomplishments in their sports seasons. Recognized were the girls cross country and boys swim team for both winning states and the girls swim team for their win in 2 free relay at states.

There were even some fun games that were played. Starting with musical chairs with a boy and a girl from each grade competing. Junior Owen Kerkezi took the win for the juniors. Followed by a dunking contest by some of the varsity boys team, judged by Principal Orlando.

There was also a teacher vs. student basketball competition, the winer was determined by who could provide the most amount of shots in the slotted time. The teacher’s team took the win over the senior team.

There were additional performances by the dance team and step team, along with a performance from the junior varsity cheer team.
