Teachers at BK: Indira Alvarado

Alvarado discusses her inspiration for becoming an educator

Indira Alvarado is a Spanish teacher, who is originally from Panama.

Alvarado has been teaching for a total of five years.

When asked what made her want to become a teacher she talks about her kids. She explains how she was the one that taught her kids how to speak both English and Spanish.

“When my kids were little we were living in a different country and not every school learned Spanish, so I had to be the one to further help them,” Alvarado said.

She goes further to explain how her motivation comes from her love of being bilingual.

“If I could help kids be even 40% bilingual, that would make me happy,” Alvarado said.
