This year’s eighteenth shooting, killing 17 students and employees, took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Nineteen-year-old Nikolas Cruz, armed with a AR-15 rifle, triggered the fire alarm at 2:30 PM at the high school in Parkland, Florida. He opened fire as people rushed out of classrooms. At least 14 people were wounded, with at least five sustaining life threatening injuries, and 17 were killed. Cruz fled the scene on foot, and was brought into custody one hour later. He confessed to the shooting, and is on trial for 17 counts of premeditated murder.

Cruz had previously been expelled from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for disciplinary issues.

This tragedy and the lives of all the victims, wounded or not, are in the prayers of Bishop Kenny High School.
