Game, Set, Match!

Crusaders play matches with Yulee’s Hornets

The girls tennis team played its first home match on Thursday, Feb. 8, against Yulee High School with an overall win in multiple matches. Home court advantage was a plus!

The matches were singles, with intense rallies and a fierce competitive atmosphere. This is where there is only one player on each side of the net, rather than two in doubles. In the end, Bishop Kenny was victorious.

Sophomore Lindy Jakab is in her second year on the team.

“I love being on the tennis team because we have a lot of fun at practice and the girls are so sweet and fun to play with,” Jakab said. “I try to win my matches strategically by hitting the ball hard, or making my opponents run by hitting short shots to tire them out.”
