Boston Woman Sets Up a Dog Kissing Booth on Her Street Window and Says Her Golden Retriever Comes With ‘100% Satisfaction Guaranteed’
A Boston woman is spreading joy one smooch at a time after setting up a dog kissing booth outside her home, inviting complete strangers to kiss or pat her beloved golden retriever. The heartwarming setup has quickly caught the attention of locals and the internet alike.
Meet Driver, the Golden Retriever Behind the Booth
Haley Scott, a Boston resident, set up the kissing booth on Moody Street in Waltham to share her three-year-old golden retriever Driver with the world. According to Scott, Driver is so full of wholesome love that he simply has enough to spare for everyone passing by.
She explained that since Driver spent so much time watching the world go by from his home window, it felt like a natural next step to open things up to the public.
“If we’re just home hanging out, then we open up shop,” Scott said. “I think part of the charm is that it’s gonna be a surprise if you find him. If you come visit, you can also give Driver a treat, but just keep it to one because he is trying to watch his figure.”
Kisses Are Encouraged, Pats Are Also Welcome
Scott is clear that nobody is being forced into anything. If you would rather not kiss a stranger’s dog, you are completely free to pat him instead. But as Scott makes it known, kisses are strongly encouraged.
And Driver comes with glowing reviews straight from his owner: “He makes all the customers happy. Oh yeah, 100% satisfaction guaranteed.”
Real People Are Already Showing Up
Scott has testimonials to back up her claims. One visitor, Annie Farrell, said the trip was “well worth it” and added: “People need the joy and unconditional love from a dog like a golden retriever.”
Science Actually Backs This Up
It turns out that kissing or spending time with a dog is not just fun, it is genuinely good for your health. According to a study from the University of Utah, even brief interactions with dogs can:
- Lower the stress hormone cortisol
- Reduce anxiety
- Boost oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine
- Enhance feelings of connection and relaxation
Recreational therapist Emily Washburn explained: “When someone is struggling with a mental health disorder, often they feel judgment from friends, family, or society. Having a dog that offers empathy and comfort can make a meaningful difference.”
A Small But Important Warning
That said, science also comes with a small caution. The CDC notes that dog mouths contain the Capnocytophaga bacterium, which in rare cases can lead to conditions beyond minor blisters or vomiting, including sepsis, heart attack, kidney failure, and gangrene. Something to keep in mind before going all in on the kissing part.
Why She Did It
For Scott, the motivation behind the kissing booth is simple and pure. “Ultimately, I’m doing this because it makes people happy, and so if this made you smile, then go do something to make someone else smile.”
In a world that could always use a little more warmth, Driver and his kissing booth might just be exactly what the neighborhood needed.
