In 2019 schools nationwide shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing an uproar and panic. Now the Chicken Pox is here to take it’s place.

Chicken pox had made its way to fame, causing a global health emergency according to the World Health Organization on August 14th. Students are scared to relive another outbreak quarantined at home.

Chicken pox is commonly mistaken for the illness, monkey pox, however there is a slight difference. Monkey pox is a swelling of the lymph nodes and Chicken pox is not. It is also considered more dangerous than chicken pox and more rare to catch.

Many have resorted to tik tok to vent their anger and spread news as well as concern for what this illness may bring.
