The Riverside Arts Market is a Jacksonville treasure that showcases local vendors, such as artists, farmers, food and clothing. This market has been around for about 15 years, beginning in 2009 and running until now. It is open every Saturday from 10am to 3pm, according to riversideartsmarket.org.
The location of this site is along the St. John’s River at 715 Riverside Ave. Because it is under the Fuller Warren Bridge and right on the water, it provides a relaxing atmosphere for individuals to enjoy while they shop around.
Not only does the market include the vendors, it also frequently provides entertainment with live musicians, dancers and yoga.
There are also events each week that involve different things like games, cultural celebrations and interactive activities. This month, the events include “First Saturday Brews/I Know it Trivia,” “Healthy Aging Month,” “National Dance Day” and “Hispanic Heritage Celebration,” according to riversideartsmarket.org.
Some Bishop Kenny families are even contributors to the market.
“As a vendor…I’ve loved seeing how the market brings people together from all around town,” Senior Daniella Mosqueda said, “I’ve loved being able to get in a good walk and try the interesting products offered by the various vendors.”
Similarly, other BK individuals have performed as the market entertainment.
“I’ve danced at the arts market many times in my life and I’ve loved it every time,” Junior Cara Shivers said, “It’s always nice to see people using their creative outlets to start businesses!”
Whether it is to shop local for groceries, buy a new art piece or find a trinket, the Arts Market has all the stops covered.
