Seniors attended an assembly on Feb. 21 to learn about campus ministry, which serves universities and colleges in Duval County and other surrounding areas.
Speakers from University of Florida and University of North Florida, as well as two 2019 Kenny alumni represented the group and gave information about what the campus ministry does on college campuses, and what they do outside of them.
They have Family Night every Thursday at 6:15 pm, bible studies, Mass, weekly Adoration, retreats, mission/pilgrimage trips and social events. They have nights designated to women and men. Women’s nights are on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm, and men’s nights are Wednesdays at 7:00pm. They have so many opportunities for anyone to join.
The ministry goes on about three trips a year. They always go to Washington DC for the March for Life, but they have many other places they like to go to.
They showed videos to the students showing what it’s like on these trips. There was a lot of dancing, singing and just growing relationships with everyone around them.
Bishop Kenny hopes to see its seniors continuing to grow in their faith even after they graduate.
“You always have a home in the Eucharist,” Vice Principal Michael Broach said.
They are promoting these programs in hopes of having their Kenny students continuing their journey with faith.
