Since the release of the original maps, Fortnite’s players have increased dramatically. On Nov. 3 2023, the original map came back to life.
With this revamp, there was a total of 44.7 million players who “racked up 102 million hours of play,” polygon.com states, which is well above the average number of players who play the game on an everyday basis.
By bringing back the original map of the game from a few years ago, they have also brought back nostalgia in many players.
“It has brought a lot of times talking to people and good memories,” junior Seth Paulus said, who has played Fortnite for many years. “I don’t know what the map is going to be like or anything yet, so I’m interested to see how it turns out.”
Fortnite was created by the developer Epic Games on July 21 2017. The ultimate goal of the game is to be the “last man standing.”
With this, you can also buy different skins with the in-game currency, V-bucks, to help add a personal touch. You also gather building materials in order to build structures to your liking.
With players playing against you, there is a sense of competition also to achieve this “victory royale.” This victory can also be completed in small groups to teams, so you can play with your friends.
After the release of the old map, Fortnite has more events planned in store. It is set to have its “Big Bang” update on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m., which will include a new map, skins and other items to enhance gameplay.
Fortnite also has big collaborations in store, during this update, such as Eminem.
“The Grammy winner will be added to the game’s item shop on November 29,” according to gameinformer.com.
In addition to this, there is also a virtual concert with Eminem, where players can have the concert experience without leaving their homes.
