The Nebraska Women’s Volleyball Team hosts the largest women’s sporting event in history.
The Nebraska Volleyball team broke records for the attendance at any women’s sporting event on Aug. 30, 2023 at The Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Over 92,000 attendees watched the Huskers beat the University of Nebraska Omaha with a 3-0 win.
Nebraska Husker player Lexi Rodriguez said, “I think it’s huge for little girls to see a women’s sports and volleyball played on this big of a stage and having so many people invested in it.”
Following the match, Coach John Cook said “The students on the field, I think that’s what set this whole thing off. You’re surrounded by all these people on the field and people in the stands and that changes it.”
