A new set of celebrities have taken to the dance floor for Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars(DWTS).
The new season premiered on Tuesday, Sept.17. The episode was a way to get to know the contestants and introduce them to the DWTS stage pressure-free. No eliminations happened during week one. Week two, or Hollywood Night, was the first “competition week” with a double-elimination looming over the contestants’ heads.
Here are all the couples competing, and how they are doing after weeks one and two.
Anna Delvey and pro dancer Ezra Sosa
Anna Delvey, one of the more controversial stars, is known for her 2019 conviction in which she was found guilty for conning $275,000 out of banks, hotels and people to help her live a lavish lifestyle.
For their week one dance, Delvey and Sosa did a Cha-Cha to the song “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. The couple was tied for 7th with a score of 18/30.
For week two, the couple performed a quick step to “Suddenly I See” by KT Tundtall from “The Devil Wears Prada”. Their performance earned them a score of 17/30, but unfortunately it was not enough to keep them from the bottom 3 where they eventually got eliminated.
Brooks Nader and pro dancer Gleb Savchenko
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Brooks Nader, and her partner Gleb Savchenko, danced a Tango to “Piece of Me” by Britney Spears. Earning a score of 18/30 at the end of week one, they were tied for 7th place.
For week two the couple danced a Quickstep to the song “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. With a score of 20/30, not only did the couple improve but they made it to the next round safely.
Chandler Kinney and pro dancer Brandon Armstrong
Chandler Kinney is an actor best known for her role in the “Zombies” franchise and the hit TV show “Pretty Little Liars”.
Week one, the duo danced a Tango to the song “Hot to Go!” By Chappell Roan. They had the highest score of the night with a 23/30, securing their spot at #1.
Week two of the competition, the couple performed the Rumba to “What Was I Made For” from the hit movie “Barbie”. Once again they earned the highest score of the night with a 24/30, keeping them at #1 and safe from elimination.
Danny Amendola and pro dancer Witney Carson
The former NFL player, Danny Amendol, and pro Witney Carson danced a Tango to “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey for week one. They landed in 4th place with a score of 20/30 going into week two.
For the second week, the pair played a tribute to Amendola’s grandfather with a Jive to “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins from “Top Gun”. The duo’s score was a 21/30 earning them a spot in week three.
Dwight Howard and pro dancer Daniella Karagach
The 6’10” former NBA player Dwight Howard, and his 5′ 3” partner Daniella Karagach danced to “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan for week one. Despite their height difference, the duo got second place with a final score of 22/30.
For week two, the pair performed a Foxtrot to “City of Stars” sung by Ryan Gosling in the musical “La La Land”. Their dance earned them a score of 22/30 and kept them safe from elimination.
Eric Roberts and pro dancer Britt Stewart
The Oscar-nominated actor, Eric Roberts, and his partner Britt Stewart danced to Cha-Cha to “Old Time Rock & Roll”. The dance scored 15/30 being the lowest score of the night but because week one had no eliminations, the couple was safe.
In week two the duo performed a Waltz to “The Godfather Waltz” by Nino Rota & Carlo Savina from “The Godfather”. They scored the same as week one with a 15/30, but ended up being safe and moving on to the next round.
Ilona Maher and pro dancer Alan Bersten
Ilona Maher won Olympic Bronze Medals for rugby and is a TikTok star. Now she is taking on the ballroom with her partner, Alan Bersten.
In week one the pair danced a Cha-Cha to “Man! I Feel LIke A Woman!” by Shania Twain. The performance racked up a total of 18 points and left the duo tied at 7th place.
For week two they did a SalSa to “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes from “Dirty Dancing”. The pair earned a score of 21/30 and was safe from elimination.
Jenn Tran and pro dancer Sasha Farber
“The Bachelorette” star of season 21, Jenn Tran, and her partner Sasha Farber danced a Cha-Cha to “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. Their score was 19/30 placing them 5th overall.
In week two, the duo danced a Tango to “ A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” by Fergie, Q-Tip & GoonRock from “The Great Gatsby”. They got the same amount of points as week one and safety moved on to the next round.
Joey Graziadei and pro dancer Jenna Johnson
Joey Graziadei was the star of season 28 of “The Bachelor. On week one, the pair danced a Cha-Cha to “Dancin’ in the Country” by Tyler Hubbard. Their performance earned them 21 points and left them tied for 3th place.
For week two the couple did a Rumba to “Shallow” by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper from “A Star Is Born”. They were awarded 22 points and moved on to the next round of competition.
Phaedra Parks and pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy
Known for “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, Phaedra Parks and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy danced a Cha-Cha to “I’m Every Woman” by Whitney Houston that earned them a score of 19/30.
For week two of the competition, the pair danced a Foxtrot to “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” by Jennifer Hudson from ”Dreamgirls”. They were awarded 21 points and are moving on to week three.
Reginald VelJohnson and pro dancer Emma Slater
You most likely know Reginald VelJohnson as the cop from “Die Hard”. Reginald and his partner, Emma Slater, danced a Salsa to “MotownPhilly” by Boyz II Men for week one. Their dance got a score of 16/30 which left them in the bottom three.
In week two, the pair danced a Paso doble to the song “Ode to Joy” by Beethoven from “Die Hard”. Their performance earned them a score of 15/30 which kept them in the bottom three. The couple had the threat of elimination looming over their heads, however the people’s votes kept them in the competition.
Stephen Nedoroscik and pro dancer Rylee Arnold
The “Pommel horse guy”, otherwise known as Stephen Nedoroscik, rose to fame during this year’s Paris Olympic Games, when he helped the US men’s gymnastics team win their first medal in 15 years.
Alongside partner Rylee Arnold, Nedoroscik danced a Jive to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen for week one. The duo’s performance earned them a score of 21/30 leaving them tied for 3rd place.
For week two, the couple danced a Paso doble to “Superman — Main Theme” performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Their dance earned a score of 22/30, making them safe from elimination and moving them into the next round.
Tori Spelling and pro dancer Pasha Pashkov
Known for her role in the hit television show “90210”, Tori Spelling and her partner Pasha Pashkov danced a FoxTrot to “Trustfall” by Pink for week one. The dance earned a score of 17/30 which put them in the bottom three going into week two.
On the second night of the competition, the pair danced Rumba to “This Is Me” by Keala Settle from “The Greatest Showman”. The dance earned them a score of 19/30, but unfortunately was not enough to keep them out of the bottom three. Spelling and Pashkov were eliminated from the competition.
