A new cruise line is coming to the terminal in Jacksonville. This cruise line was officially approved on February 6 to begin in November 2025.
JAXPORT CEO Eric Green says this is an opportunity to bring jobs to the area and a new cruising option for travelers.
“It’s exciting for our community anytime we do things like this it’s exciting because of the opportunity to create more jobs,” Green said in an interview with Action New Jax.
This new cruise line is called the Norwegian Gem, it would be home-ported from November to April every year through 2028, and it will have seasonal cruises to the Bahamas.
The Norwegian Gem can hold just under 2400 passengers. JAXPORT officials say more than 98 million consumers live within driving distance of the Jacksonville cruise terminal.
