Spectators gathered along Jacksonville’s beaches to watch the Blue Angels perform in the Sea and Sky Airshow on Saturday Oct. 21 and Sunday Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
A common place to watch the jets was at Seawalk Pavilion, which is near First Avenue North in Jacksonville Beach. There were tents and food trucks where people could purchase food and drinks to keep up with the fun.
Since 1946, the Blue Angels have traveled all around the country performing to encourage people to join the Navy or Marine Corps.
Although the pilots make flying the jets look easy, they go through hard training two to three times a day for six months before touring the country, according to uso.org. They must also currently be a Navy or Marine Corps pilot.
People gathered on the beach and the boardwalks for the Airshow that lasted for 45 minutes and included tricks from all six of the jets.
