Three tips to help avoid running late to school

Gabby Nunez, Business Manager

You want to make sure you have your backpack ready to go the night before. In doing so, you avoid searching for loose papers or materials. Searching for materials the morning of can be very time consuming. By having your backpack ready for the next morning, you prevent yourself from forgetting anything. So, the few minutes you spend packing your backpack the night before can ensure your success for the following day at school.

If you can, try going to sleep earlier. If you have a hard time waking up in the morning, you may not be getting enough sleep. Going to sleep early will make it not as difficult to get up in the morning, as you will be well rested. Furthermore, “students [achieving] the proper amount of sleep at night [can] help [themselves] stay focused, improve [their] concentration, and improve [their] academic performance” The CDC said in a statement.

Try making your morning worth waking up for. This could be interpreted in many different ways. Whether that be making yourself your favorite breakfast in the morning, or listening to your favorite music while getting ready. Listening to music while getting ready may be the best direction for you to go. Not only are you looking forward to getting ready in the mornings but, “listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory” as explained in a research experiment held by Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Hopefully by using these three tips, you can avoid running late for school.
