Finding Motivation

The importance of staying focused during last few months of school

Reilly Nance, Arts and Entertainment Editor

With the last quarter of school beginning and the thoughts of summer on our minds, it can be easy to let our grades drop and motivation dwindle. It can be hard to remain focused on schoolwork when the year is coming to a close. Writing down your goals for the remainder of the school year is an effective way to stay inspired and avoid procrastination. Doing assignments as they are assigned is not only a productive way to get work done, but also guarantees you will not forget about them later on. The stress seems to really hit hard as the school year comes to a close. “Finals week is definitely the most stressful time of the school year for me,” said junior Madison Alligood. “I stay on track by studying a little each week to prepare.” Since these couple of months are packed with assignments, events, and tests it is crucial to give yourself mental timeouts every once in a while. It is essential to remember to take time for yourself as it will make this time of year less mentally and physically stressful.
