Theatre department heads to Florida State Thespian Festival

     Bishop Kenny theatre department will pack their bags on March 20 to a state-wide convention for thespians in Tampa. Several of BK’s department will be presenting their pieces to judges, including Camille Blaydes, James Deats, Claudia Irizzary, Madison Johnson, Lauren Massais, Haley Sweat, Tyler Thompson, and Annie Pritchard.

     New members and returning competitors will have a chance to attend a series of workshops for singing, acting, and dancing among other drama subjects. Junior Sephora Affa plans to go to workshops devoted to choreography and playwriting that suit her interests.

     “I’ve never taken any theatre type class and I just want to better my skills and have fun with friends,” Affa said.

     A new member to theatre this year, Affa will take the bus down to Tampa to support Bishop Kenny. After a couple days of performances and workshops, they will return on the Saturday March 23.
